23 SEPT 2021 Yes and thanks to you, I exceeded my goal twice in my campaign “Pedal for Portage” and raised over $1111.   Thank you soooo much.   Portage is a residential facility in Elora specializing in youth addictions and a worthwhile cause.   Read more here:   https://portageontario.akaraisin.com/ui/81862DF57A5B47C6ABFA0260D8990166 Saturday night we had dinner with friends from Montreal who met us in Vankleek Hill at a nice restaurant.   We haven’t seen them other than Zooming for, you know, 1 1/2 or 2 years. Sunday after much effort, our church, Harcourt United Memorial Church in Guelph went live.   It was a thrill to watch and an example of how people (Elizabeth and I) can attend church from afar when we are not able to physically be there.   The broadcast went well with some glitching and glitches that need working out and a bit of fine tuning. I have been very involved in this project for probably close to ten years.   There wa...

Peterborough/Ottawa 16 Sept. 2021 So by now you know we like to cycle. Peterborough has a great trail/rail trail system and today we cycled to Lakefield for lunch at the Nutty Bean CafĂ©…a great place for lunch.   We returned on the same trail which is fairly flat with a very low grade approx. 36 km round trip.   This is the furthest in one day for us this year.   We used to ride as much as 80km and I have rode (ridden?) as much as 166km (100 Miles called a “century”) but that was BC (Before Covid) and BHBABTBRC (Before Hearts/Before Ankle Breaking Tandem riding/Before Rotator Cuff surgery)   If you don’t know us, let’s just say we have had some setbacks but still enjoying the ride as much as possible.   Elizabeth received a new bike this May.   It was a year in the making but well worth it. So this year I am riding to raise funds for a good cause (not by myself as Elizabeth has been riding with me): Between Sunday, September 12 and Saturday, Septembe...

September 8, 2021.    Peterborough ON. SO … been a while since we had a Blog going and I know some of you really like to read about our adventures…personally I think you just look at the pictures but that’s o.k.    Whatever turns the crank eh? Well Covid has sure cramped our style but you know, there is a lot to see in Ontario.    Back when the snow was flying and we couldn’t go south, we started to plan alternatives.    Throughout May we    were renovating (well paint and rug all of upstairs) and lived in the trailer for a month.    That was fun(ish) as we mostly ate and slept and ate there and commuted into Guelph to work at the house.    Did I mention ate?    Does anyone else have some new Covid pounds/kg they didn’t have before? June was the task of putting everything back together. July we travelled to the near north and spent time up in Pancake Bay Provincial Park (Lake Superior) where som...
